Wedding Venues Brisbane – Factory 51, Coorparoo
Factory 51 is a food-led, award-winning wedding venue in Brisbane. Set in a restored red brick warehouse in Coorparoo, the space features a Maria Theresa crystal chandelier, a private laneway entrance, and the flexibility to run your ceremony, shared feast, and dance floor all in the one space.
We’ve hosted hundreds of weddings. In both 2023 and 2025, we were voted Brisbane’s #1 Unique Wedding Venue at the Wedding Industry Awards (and #2 in 2024) – based on verified feedback from the couples who actually celebrated here. There’s no venue hire fee, only a minimum spend. Instead, the night is built around what most couples secretly want: feast early, skip the stop-start timeline, and leave real time for the dance floor.
If you’re comparing wedding venues Brisbane, this page will help you decide whether Factory 51 is the right fit.
Many couples reading reviews are also deciding between venues. If that’s you, our guide to the best wedding venues Brisbane breaks down the key differences and what actually matters on the day.
How to Choose the Right Wedding Venue in Brisbane
Brisbane has no shortage of beautiful wedding venues. The hard part is working out which one will actually suit your wedding – not just photograph well. Four things matter more than anything else.
Style and setting. Outdoor gardens and golf-course lawns photograph beautifully in daylight. Indoor warehouse venues like Factory 51, however, trade daylight for atmosphere – exposed brick, chandeliers, festoon lighting – and hold that atmosphere deep into the evening. Neither option is better. It depends on whether you picture your day lit by the sun or by the venue itself.
Flow. The best wedding venues in Brisbane let your day move from ceremony to drinks to reception without relocating guests. Importantly, splitting locations almost always costs energy – and energy is what people remember.
Food. Many Brisbane wedding venues treat food as a compliance item. Restaurant-based venues treat it as the centrepiece. If your guests are the kind who talk about the meal on the way home, this matters more than anything else on the list.
After the formalities. Some venues are built for short, structured events. Others are built for long, relaxed celebrations where the dance floor carries the night. Decide early which one you want – it shapes every other decision.
Why Couples Choose Factory 51
At Factory 51, couples tell us the same handful of things at the end of the night.
The space did the heavy lifting. The restored red brick warehouse, Maria Theresa crystal chandelier, festoon lighting, exposed steel, jade green marble bar, handmade timber tables, and black velvet lounges mean the room is already styled before you add a single flower. Couples who want to add personal touches can; couples who want to keep it simple don’t have to.
The food was the thing guests talked about. Our Italian feasting menus are shared down the centre of the table – antipasti, handmade pasta (including our 10-year bestseller pancetta, sage, and truffle gnocchi), woodfired pizza, mains, sides, dessert – and they come out of the same kitchen that runs the restaurant the other six nights a week.
For couples drawn to the shared feasting format specifically, our Italian wedding venue Brisbane page covers every detail of the Italian wedding experience at Factory 51.
The night actually flowed. Ceremony, canapés in the private laneway and pre-reception terrace, seated feast, speeches, then straight to the dance floor – all in one venue, without buses, shuttles, or dead time in between.
It felt personal. One wedding per day, a team who plans the timeline with you, and a space built for 150 seated or 180 cocktail – intimate enough that every guest gets seen.
This is the reason Factory 51 has been voted Brisbane’s #1 Unique Wedding Venue at the Wedding Industry Awards in 2023 and 2025 (and #2 in 2024), based on verified feedback from real couples.
If you’re comparing wedding venues, it helps to see what real couples say – you can read our Factory 51 reviews to get a clear picture of the experience from enquiry through to the wedding day.
The Workshop – Our Private Wedding Space
The Workshop is Factory 51’s dedicated private wedding and event space. Accessed through a private laneway entrance, it’s a fully enclosed warehouse room with its own bar, Maria Theresa crystal chandelier, festoon lighting, polished concrete floors, handmade timber tables, and black velvet lounges. It holds 150 guests seated or 180 cocktail.
For ceremonies, the room sets up with a candle aisle, black Americana chairs, and a handmade timber signing table – exposed brick behind you, chandelier above. The space is climate-controlled, and integrated AV (wireless microphone, dual screens, surround sound) means vows and speeches carry cleanly to every seat.
The flow from ceremony to reception is one of the things The Workshop does best. While guests move out to the private laneway and pre-reception terrace – which holds a party of up to 120 – a black velvet floor-to-ceiling curtain closes off the main room. The space resets behind it, and when guests walk back in for the seated feast, the room has been transformed. No buses. No second venue. No dead hour standing around in the dark.

A Wedding Venue on Brisbane’s Southside
Factory 51 is in Coorparoo, about ten minutes from the Brisbane CBD and easily reached from Camp Hill, Greenslopes, Holland Park, Woolloongabba, East Brisbane, Norman Park, Annerley, and the rest of the inner south. Inner-city access keeps guests arriving on time, and southside accommodation is plentiful for interstate and overseas travellers.
For couples searching specifically for wedding venues Brisbane Southside, Factory 51 is one of the few venues in the area that combines a restaurant kitchen, a dedicated private event space, and an award-winning track record under one roof.
Live Music, DJs, and Real Dance Floors
Factory 51 is a live-music-friendly wedding venue. The warehouse acoustic handles full bands, acoustic duos, string trios, and DJs – and the private laneway means late-night volume doesn’t compete with residential neighbours the way it does at home-style or garden venues. Integrated surround sound and a wireless microphone come standard, so your band, MC, or DJ doesn’t need to truck in extra kit just to make the room work.
Most Factory 51 weddings end the same way: lights down, dance floor open, and a band or DJ carrying the energy from the end of the feast straight through to the last drink. If the dance floor is the part of the night that matters most to you, this is the venue to look at first.
Flexible Wedding Packages and Weekday Offers
Factory 51 operates on a minimum spend, not a venue hire fee. Reception packages include five hours of staffed room hire as standard, so you’re paying for food, drinks, and service for your guests – not rent on an empty room. See our full venue inclusions list to understand exactly what’s provided with every booking.
Additionally, weekday and shoulder-date weddings come with genuine savings:
- Tuesday–Wednesday: 50% off the ceremony + $20pp off the reception package
- Thursday: 20% off the ceremony + $15pp off the reception
- Friday and Sunday: 10% off the ceremony + $10pp off the reception
Furthermore, packages are modular. Ceremony, canapés, feasting menu, beverage package, and styling can all be adjusted. Cultural desserts, family cakes, and specific menu requests are welcome – we’ve hosted Italian, Greek, Vietnamese, Indian, Lebanese, and interfaith weddings in the same room.
Registry Weddings and Post-Ceremony Celebrations
A rising share of Brisbane couples now legalise the marriage at the registry and celebrate properly afterwards. Factory 51 works particularly well as a post-registry reception venue – the room already has the atmosphere a standalone reception space often lacks, and the timeline can start straight at canapés without building in a full ceremony set.
See registry wedding reception ideas. You can also find answers to common questions on our Factory 51 FAQ page.
A Real Wedding at Factory 51 – Marcella & Jordan
Marcella and Jordan held their ceremony inside the main warehouse. Candle aisle, black Americana chairs, exposed brick backdrop, the Maria Theresa chandelier overhead. Guests moved out to the laneway and pre-reception terrace for canapés while the black velvet curtain dropped and the room reset behind it, then back in for a shared Italian feast – antipasti down the centre of the tables, pasta and pizza, mains, dessert.
Speeches ran straight after the main. No dead time. The chandelier dropped into warm light, the band started, and the dance floor was full inside ten minutes.
Their first dance ended with Marcella and Jordan lifted above the crowd, surrounded by everyone they love. That’s the moment people remember – and it’s only possible when the night has been built around the dance floor, not around the timeline.
Factory 51 was voted Brisbane’s #1 Unique Wedding Venue at the 2025 Wedding Industry Awards on the strength of weddings exactly like this one.

Wedding Venues Brisbane – FAQs
How much does a wedding venue cost in Brisbane?
Most Brisbane wedding venues now operate on a minimum spend rather than a fixed hire fee. At Factory 51, the minimum spend varies by day – weekdays and shoulder dates start lower, Saturdays are highest. There’s no separate venue hire fee, and reception packages include five hours of staffed room hire as standard. Everything you spend goes toward food, drinks, and service for your guests.
Can you have your ceremony and reception in the one venue?
Yes – and at Factory 51 that’s how most couples do it. Ceremony in the main warehouse, then a black velvet floor-to-ceiling curtain closes off the room while guests move out to the private laneway and pre-reception terrace for canapés. The space resets behind the curtain, and the seated reception and dance floor run in the same warehouse. Guests don’t move between locations, which keeps the energy and timing on track. If you would like to explore your options for an outdoor ceremony close to the venue visit our Wedding Ceremony Locations Brisbane article.
What makes a wedding venue unique?
A unique wedding venue combines atmosphere, flexibility, and flow – a space that already has character, a team that simplifies planning, and a layout that lets the night build naturally from ceremony to dance floor. Factory 51 has been voted Brisbane’s #1 Unique Wedding Venue at the Wedding Industry Awards in both 2023 and 2025 on those criteria.
How far in advance should you book a wedding venue in Brisbane?
Most couples book 12 to 18 months ahead. Saturdays in peak season (March–May, September–November) go first, sometimes 24 months out. Weekday, Sunday, and winter dates are often available at shorter notice – and come with better pricing.
Is Factory 51 good for live music and bands?
Yes. The warehouse acoustic handles full bands and DJs, and the private laneway entrance means late-night volume doesn’t affect residential neighbours. Integrated AV – wireless microphone, dual screens, surround sound – also makes the room work for ceremonies and speeches without hiring extra kit. Factory 51 is one of the Brisbane wedding venues most often recommended for couples whose priority is the dance floor.
Can we bring our own cake, cultural desserts, or family sweets?
Yes. Cultural desserts, family cakes, and traditional sweets are welcome. We work with couples across Italian, Greek, Vietnamese, Indian, Lebanese, and interfaith weddings, and the kitchen can coordinate timing and service around whatever you bring in.
Is Factory 51 an affordable wedding venue in Brisbane?
Factory 51 sits in the mid-range for inner-south Brisbane wedding venues, but weekday and shoulder-date offers bring the price down significantly – 50% off the ceremony and $20pp off reception on Tuesday and Wednesday, for example. Reception packages also include five hours of staffed room hire as standard. See our Affordable Wedding Venues Brisbane page for the full breakdown.
