Factory51 FAQ Brisbane – Everything You Need to Know About Hosting an Event

Welcome to the Factory51 FAQ Brisbane page. Whether you’re planning a wedding, private function, corporate event, or celebration, we’ve answered the most common questions about ceremonies, catering, venue access, styling, and bookings at Factory51 – a leading industrial wedding venue and Italian restaurant in Coorparoo.

General Venue Information

Where is Factory51 located?
Factory51 is located at 51 Holdsworth Street, Coorparoo – only 10 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD and easily accessible from surrounding Southside suburbs.

Is parking available onsite?
Yes. Free street parking is available in the area. After 5pm, guests may also use the adjacent office block car park. Paid parking is also nearby at Coorparoo Square.

Can I view the venue before booking?
Absolutely. Book a private tour of The Workshop function space by contacting our Event Manager, Courtney, on 0428 283 157 or via email at hello@factory51.com.au.

Weddings & Ceremonies at Factory51

Can we host our ceremony onsite?
Yes. Our Coorparoo venue is ideal for hosting both ceremony and reception in one convenient location. After the ceremony, a velvet curtain is drawn while the team resets the room for your reception. The package includes seating, a signing table, AV setup, pre-reception drinks, and extra hire time.

What is the guest capacity at Factory51?
Factory51 can host:
– 153 guests seated (alternate drop)
– 114 guests seated (shared feast)
– 180 guests cocktail-style

Is there a venue hire fee?
No. We operate on a minimum spend model, not a venue hire fee. This spend requirement varies depending on the day and season.

How late can events run?
Our liquor licence allows events until midnight. Guests have an additional 30 minutes to exit the venue comfortably.

Are there noise restrictions at Factory51?
No. Our venue is sound-engineered with a 100dBC noise rating. DJs, bands, and playlists can play right up until the end of your event.

Where can we take photos nearby?
Popular local photo locations include Kangaroo Point Cliffs, New Farm Park, South Bank, and the Botanic Gardens. You’re also welcome to use our private laneway or inside The Workshop for red brick backdrops and industrial charm.

Food, Catering & Menus

Do you provide catering onsite?
Yes. All menus are prepared in-house by Executive Chef Bruce McKenna and his team. Choose from shared Italian feasts, alternate drop menus, cocktail-style receptions, or children’s meals.

Can we bring our own cake?
Yes. We’ll cut and serve your wedding cake on platters at no cost. If you’d like individual plating with coulis and cream, this can be arranged for $4 per person.

Do you cater for children?
We do. Our $45 children’s menu includes a starter, main course, dessert, and soft drinks or juice.

Are dietary requirements accommodated?
Absolutely. Please let us know in advance if you or your guests require vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, or other custom meals.

Styling & Supplier Options

Does Factory51 offer styling?
Yes. We provide optional styling add-ons such as foliage table runners, fairy lights, gold candelabras, and candles. Our team can set up your styling items for $200.

Can we bring our own stylists or suppliers?
You can. You’re welcome to use your preferred vendors, or do your own styling. Alternatively, we can recommend trusted suppliers familiar with our venue. Our staff can also set up your personal items (menus, candles, signage, florals) for an additional fee.

Booking & Planning Information

How do we secure a date at Factory51?
A $2,000 deposit and signed contract are required to secure your date. While we don’t offer tentative holds, we’ll let you know if another enquiry comes through for the same date.

When do we get access to the venue?
Access begins at 10am on your wedding day (11am on Sundays), giving ample time for setup, deliveries, and pre-event styling.

Who will support us during the planning process?
Our dedicated Event Manager, Courtney, will guide you through every stage – from your first enquiry through to your event day – providing support with floorplans, timelines, and logistics.

Timing, Logistics & Policies

What time can we start and finish our event?

Events at Factory51 can begin from 6:00pm on weekday evenings and from 12:00pm on weekends. Evening events typically conclude by 11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and by 10:00pm Sunday through Thursday. We’ll confirm exact timing when you book based on your chosen format.

What time can vendors and decorators access the venue for setup?

We allow supplier access from 3:00pm on event days for weekday evenings, and from 10:00am on weekend days. If you need extended setup time, let Courtney know when planning your event and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

When does bump-out need to be completed?

All hired items, decorations and styling pieces should be collected at the conclusion of your event. We allow a 30-minute grace period after finish time for guests to head off. If you need overnight storage for gifts or large items, just let us know in advance and we can arrange next-business-day collection.

Is there parking available at Factory51?

Yes — Factory51 is located in Coorparoo, which has ample on-street parking directly outside and on surrounding streets. Unlike inner-city venues, parking is free and typically easy to find even on weekend evenings. We’re also close to bus routes along Cavendish Road.

Is there a noise curfew or music limit?

Music must conclude at 11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10:00pm on other evenings. We work with DJs and live musicians regularly and can recommend suppliers who know the room well. Our laneway area is available for outdoor moments earlier in the evening.

Can we bring our own wine, beer or champagne (BYO)?

Factory51 holds a full liquor licence and our in-house bar team handles all beverages. We don’t offer general BYO, however if you’d like to bring something special — a bottle of vintage wine, family champagne for the toast, or similar — please speak with Courtney and we’ll discuss options on a case-by-case basis.

Can we bring our own wedding cake or desserts?

Absolutely. Outside wedding cakes and dessert items from external suppliers are welcome. Our team will help coordinate placement and service on the night. External catering for main meals is not permitted, as all food is prepared fresh in our in-house Italian kitchen.

What is the minimum number of guests for a wedding or function?

The Workshop comfortably seats from around 40 guests for a long-table dinner and up to 120 guests for a cocktail-style event. There’s no strict minimum — we’ve hosted intimate celebrations for 30 and full receptions for 120. Get in touch and we’ll help you work out the best format for your guest count.

Can we book a ceremony only, without a reception?

We specialise in full ceremony and reception packages in one beautiful space, which means guests don’t have to travel between venues. Standalone ceremony-only bookings are assessed on availability — contact Courtney to discuss.

Are you pet friendly?

We love it when couples want to include their furry family members! Pets are welcome for ceremony moments, provided you have someone dedicated to caring for them throughout. Please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Can we use confetti, flower petals or sparklers?

Biodegradable flower petals and dried petal confetti are welcome inside The Workshop and in the laneway. Standard paper or plastic confetti is not permitted indoors. Sparklers can be arranged in the outdoor laneway area — please discuss with Courtney when planning your timeline.

Do you have a dedicated wedding coordinator on the day?

Yes. Courtney coordinates all events at Factory51 and will be your main point of contact from the first enquiry through to the night itself. We don’t hand you off to a duty manager on the day — the person who planned your event with you is the person who runs it.
