Share Feasting Brisbane: Why Banquet-Style Group Dining Beats A La Carte Every Time

by | Apr 3, 2026 | Functions & Corporate

If you’re organising a group dinner in Brisbane, you’ve probably worked out that the hard part isn’t choosing where to go, it’s making the night feel easy once you’re there. Individual orders, uneven timing, split bills, dietary juggling, it all adds up as the table grows. Share feasting removes that: a curated selection of dishes served to the whole table in a steady, natural flow, so everyone eats together and the focus shifts from managing dinner to enjoying it. At Factory 51 in Coorparoo it’s the default for group dining bookings, and a big part of why we’ve become a go-to group venue on the southside.

What is share feasting?

Share feasting is group dining structured around the table rather than the individual. Instead of everyone ordering their own entrée and main, a curated menu is served across the table in stages, antipasti to begin, pasta and gnocchi to follow, woodfired pizza and sides through the middle, dessert to finish. Dishes arrive in a consistent rhythm, the table stays active all evening, and guests spend their time talking and eating rather than waiting. It’s the format that has defined Italian dining for generations, and it translates naturally into a modern Brisbane group dinner.

Why it works better for groups

À la carte starts to break down as a group gets larger, meals arrive at different times, conversations get interrupted, and the night loses its rhythm. Share feasting solves that by design: dishes are built for the table, so everything arrives in sequence, there are no split bills, no long gaps, and no complicated ordering. The kitchen knows what’s coming, service stays consistent, and a curated feast at a fixed per-person price usually delivers more variety than people would order individually, without the decision fatigue of a full menu for a dozen guests.

The share feast menus

For groups of eleven or more, we offer three curated share feast menus, each designed to remove the friction from group booking while delivering a complete, well-paced meal.

Italian Feast. The full Factory 51 experience and the best choice for groups who want to cover all bases. It opens with four shared starters, porcini mushroom arancini with truffle aioli, pork and veal meatballs in Napoli, house polenta chips with pesto, and truffle and honey butter focaccia, then moves into a pasta course of gnocchi with slow-braised beef ragù, basil and ricotta salata, plus house-made pasta with truffle mushroom, confit garlic, parmesan and rocket. Three woodfired pizzas follow (beef sausage, salami and smoked bacon; pork and fennel sausage with peppers, olives and parsley; and a margherita with buffalo mozzarella and basil), rounded out with a rocket, pear and parmesan salad. Mini cannoli can be added.

Pizza Feast. Centred on our woodfired pizzas, opened with arancini and balanced with a rocket, pear and parmesan salad. Four pizzas are served across the table, a relaxed, casual option well suited to work catch-ups, end-of-year functions and groups with younger guests.

Pasta Feast. Handmade pasta at the centre, opening with garlic and herb butter focaccia before three pasta dishes: gnocchi with cherry tomato sugo, confit garlic, basil and parmesan; cavatello with slow-braised beef ragù, peas and parmesan; and orecchiette with slow-braised lamb ragù, spinach and pecorino, served with a rocket, pear and parmesan salad. A well-rounded choice for groups who want the depth of an Italian shared dinner with pasta at its heart.

Beverages are available via table service throughout. For current per-person pricing and to choose the right menu for your group, see our group dining page or contact the venue directly.

Share feasting for every occasion

The format does most of the work whatever the occasion. birthday dinners benefit because no one is managing their own order, parking is straightforward in Coorparoo, and the banquet flow keeps the night moving. Work functions relax colleagues who don’t know each other well, passing plates is a low-stakes way to get a table talking, and a fixed per-person price keeps budgeting simple. Engagement parties and celebrations suit the full Italian Feast, and midweek group dinners are where the format earns its keep, removing decision-making and delivering a well-paced meal with no delays.

Dietary requirements

A group of eleven-plus almost always includes a dietary requirement, and share feasting handles it better than à la carte because we prepare in advance rather than table-side. Gluten-free options are available across antipasti, pasta, gnocchi, pizza and dessert, so gluten-free guests take part fully rather than being served a modified plate, and vegetarian options run throughout. Just let us know when you book. Our gluten-free Italian guide has more detail.

Planning your group dinner

Book ahead, we need a minimum of eleven guests for share feast bookings, and Friday and Saturday evenings fill quickly (midweek is easier and often more relaxed). Collect dietary requirements before you confirm, choose your menu to suit the occasion, and pick a venue where the format is genuinely built for groups rather than adapted for them, it shows in the service, the consistency and how easy the whole night feels.
